Mosgiel

Mosgiel sits on the outskirts of Dunedin, 15km from the city centre.  It is also 14km from the Dunedin International Airport.

The place takes its name from Mossgiel in Ayrshire, the farm of the poet Robert Burns, the uncle of the co-founder in 1848 of the Otago settlement, the Reverend Thomas Burns.  Mosgiel is classed as a satellite town.

From Mosgiel you can take the 'Middlemarch' route to Central Otago.
